Cross = 渡る・交わる。
アニメや漫画で描かれる戦争や貧困やいじめといった社会問題に対して、何もできない自分に私は時々絶望する。
そして世界を旅するたびに、そこで様々な文化・歴史・宗教的背景を持つ人々がアニメを軸に交流する現場を見て希望を抱く。
作り手の想いが結晶化したアニメや漫画を媒体として、人と人はもっと繋がり合えるはずなのに、そんなもどかしさとか、とにかく何かアクションしたいって思いで2014年に始めた当ブログ、初期は以下のような崇高なミッションを掲げていましたが、
今は当初の野望もきちんと胸に秘めつつ、マイペースに運営してゆけたらと思っています。
Mission of Otaku Crossing
①アニメを愛し日本語を学ぶ世界各国の人々、そしてアニメを愛し英語を学ぶ日本人の、互いのアニメ文化を通じた言語学習を支援
②日本のアニメの国外での受容状況を、日本に向けて発信
③日本国内のアニメ文化やイベント情報を、海外のアニメファンに向けて発信
④各国のアニメ文化の違い・類似点を伝える事で、アニメを通じた国際交流や日本への観光を促進
⑤言語・国によって断絶しがちな国外のアニメファンと日本のアニメ制作者・インダストリーサイドの距離を縮める
1. Help support language study for both Japanese and English learners! We feel like we’ll be able to help facilitate this because our blog posts will be written in colloquial English and colloquial Japanese. In other words, you’ll be seeing both languages how they are *actually* used!
2. Inform Japanese fans about how Japanese anime and manga is received in other cultures.
3. Inform foreign fans of what Japanese fans in their favorite fandoms are up to.
4. Use the information to help facilitate global interaction between fans of the same anime and manga! We want to help fans learn about each other, and hope that more global fans will come to sightsee and participate in Japan!
5. We hope that by sharing information that is easily available to Japanese fans, we can reduce the distance between the Japanese anime and manga industry and its foreign fans.
